Extension Community Development is meant to improve the quality
of life in Idaho Communities. Our Community Development program
focuses on creating sustainable social and economic systems in
Idaho by:

Building social and human capital
-
Creating partnerships, and
-
Increasing community access to resources
Community Development
programs are divided into 3 overlapping areas:
Social & Organizational Infrastructure includes leadership
development, educational opportunities and resources, workforce
training, and access to medical and social services.
Economic Infrastructure enables a sustainable quality of life
consistent with resource constraints, community goals, living
standards, expectations and aspirations.
Physical Infrastructure includes transportation systems,
healthcare facilities, housing, public facilities, sewer and
water, and telecom/technology transfer systems.
University of Idaho Extension has focus groups that reflect the
programming areas above. While Bonner County Extension can
provide information and programming in all areas through
partnerships with other educations, we offer direct programming
