2009 4-H AND FFA FAIR SCHEDULE

 

 

AUGUST

3          All non-market Animal Portfolios (Involvement Report, record book, story and required supplemental forms) due in Extension Office by 5:00 p.m.

All animal entry forms and fees (for all non-market projects) due in Ext. Office by 5:00 pm.

All Horse Show entry forms and fees due in Extension Office by 5:00 pm.

All FFA entry forms and fees due in Extension Office by 5:00 pm.

3          Deadline to notify office of dropped projects

4-6       Record book judging at Extension Office

6          Style Revue narrations due in Extension Office by 4:00 p.m.

7          Registration deadline for County 4-H Oral Presentation Contest.

10        4-H Horse and Livestock Interviews, 3-7:00 p.m.; members will receive an interview time

10        Consignment Forms for market projects due in Extension Office. (Can bring to interview)

10        FCS and miscellaneous project members can call office to receive interview time(s)

12        4-H Style Show, 7:00 p.m, Outdoor Stage, Gooding County Fairgrounds

      • Practice session at 9:00 a.m.

12        FCS Skills Contest, 9-12:00 noon, Gooding Extension Office.

13        4-H Ranch Show, 6:00 p.m. to finish, Gooding Fairgrounds Arena.

14        4-H Oral Presentation Contest, 1:00 p.m., Gooding Co. Ext. Office

13        FCS Skills Contest, 1-3:00 p.m., Gooding County Extension Office.

1:00 p.m.         4-H FCS Judges' Orientation, Exhibit Hall

1:00 p.m.         Pigs & Sheep Exhibitor Meeting, Beef Barn

1:30-6:00 p.m. Judging and interviews of 4-H FCS and Miscellaneous projects

 

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2009

7:30 a.m.         4-H & FFA members meet with sheep judge (outside show ring)

8:00 a.m.         Lamb Showmanship Show

·         4-H/FFA Market Lamb Quality will follow Showmanship

·         4-H/FFA Breeding Show to follow Market Classes

9:00 a.m.         Clubs can decorate their club area in Exhibit Hall until 5:00 p.m.

 

3-4:00 p.m.      Beef weigh-in, Beef Barn (All Beef in Barn by 4:00 p.m.)

4:30 p.m.         Beef Member Project Meeting, Beef Barn area

5:30 p.m.         4-H & FFA members meet with swine judge in Beef Barn

 

6:00 p.m.         Swine Showmanship, Beef Barn

6:00 p.m.         4-H and FFA Goat members to meet with Goat Judge

6:30 p.m.         4-H and FFA Goat Show, Outside Ring

9:00 p.m.         All 4-H and FFA livestock in place.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2009

8:00 a.m.         4-H/FFA Market Swine Quality Show

2:00 p.m.         Barn Olympics, Beef Barn

5:00 p.m.         Campfire (hotdogs & root beer floats), Outdoor Show Ring Area

6:00 p.m.         4-H and FFA Rabbit Show (Rabbit & Poultry Area)

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2009

8:00 a.m.         4-H & FFA members meet with Poultry Judge (Outdoor Ring)

8:30 a.m.         4-H & FFA members meet with beef judge (Beef Barn)

8:30 a.m.         4-H & FFA Poultry Show (Outdoor Ring)

9:00 a.m.         Judging of 4-H and FFA Breeding Show

10:00 a.m.       4-H/FFA Beef Showmanship

11:00 a.m.       Llama Showmanship, south of Sheep Barn

 

1:00 p.m.         Judging of 4-H & FFA Market Beef Quality

1:00 p.m.         Cat Show, Outside Show Ring

 

5:00 p.m.         Adult Parade

8:00 p.m.         Rodeo (free rodeo passes for 4-H and FFA members and leaders)

 

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2009

7:45 a.m.         4-H members to meet with horse showmanship judge (arena)

8:00 a.m.         4-H Horse Showmanship Show (arena) followed by Fun & Games

8:00 a.m.         4-H & FFA members meet with dairy judge (Beef Barn)

8:30 a.m.         Dairy Cattle Showmanship Show

§  4-H/FFA Dairy Cattle Quality will follow Showmanship

§  Dairy Heifer Replacement Show will follow Quality Show

 

1:00 p.m.         4-H and FFA Master Showmanship Contest (Instructions given in Beef Barn)

 

 8:00 p.m.        Parade of Champions (Grand and Reserve Market Animal Sale)

                                    (Will be paraded sometime during rodeo)

 

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, 2009

10:00 a.m.       4-H & FFA Market Animal Sale (Beef, Pigs, Sheep)

11:00 a.m.       Buyer Appreciation Barbecue (open to public)

 

  2:00 p.m.       4-H Livestock Judging Contest, Beef Barn (youth and adults)

 

10:00 p.m.       RELEASE OF ALL EXHIBITS!!!

 

 

 

 

August 24-September 11        Award and buyer thank you notes due in Extension Office, stamped, addressed and ready for mailing.

September 4                            All market record books due in Extension Office for judging.
