   Magic Valley Master Gardener

   

The club meets the third Tuesday of every month, Noon to 1 or 1:30 and has a program or speaker at every meeting.  They also coordinate their own activities that include:  garden tours, a fair booth at the Twin Falls County Fair, landscaping projects and others

 

Membership is open to only Master Gardeners (those who have completed the class).

Club Newsletter – November 2009

 

All Master Gardeners are invited to join the Master Gardeners Club for annual dues of $10 per individual or $15 per couple. You may attend up to 3 meetings before joining and we invite you to do so as soon as possible. The Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at noon in the TF County Extension Office at 246 3rd Ave. East, TF.   

 

 

Next Meeting: Tuesday, November 17 at noon – There will be no guest speaker.  The group will discuss the financial outcome of the symposium, as well as, other aspects of this educational outreach event.  We will also assist Jo Ann Robbins in correlating the evaluations.

Nov. 10 (Tuesday)- Last Planning Meeting for the Master Gardener’s Symposium will be held at Cathy’s House at 1pm.

 

Nov. 10 (Tuesday)- Last official (but not absolute) day to provide your Silent Auction items to Cathy.

 

Nov. 14 (Saturday)-Preparations for the Symposium assisted by MVMG’s

6am-setup

7am-decorations to arrive and arrange

7:30- All participating clubs setup display tables-MVMG’s to assist

 

Nov. 14 (day of the Symposium, Registration begins at 8 am) -Master Gardener Symposium for 2009: "Going Green in the Garden."  Hosted by the MVMG

Christmas Party- This gala celebration will be held at Jan and Cathy’s- the date has not been determined.

Sno Joke!  Snow is a wonderful mulch but beware of deicing salts as they can harm plants.

 

Editor’s Note: This issue was submitted by Bernadette Cooney who was laid off nearly a year ago.  While looking for full-time work I am currently pruning, raking, cleaning out gutters and cleaning houses to pay the bills. Club Purpose: In the MVMG Bylaws, the first item under ARTICLE II: PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES states “To provide a place for Master Gardeners to share ideas, knowledge, love of gardening, and facilitate continuing education in the latest and best gardening practices and methods.”

Membership: Anyone in the Magic Valley region who has completed the curriculum for the Master Gardener Program and is willing to uphold the purposes and objectives of the organization may join. Dues are $10 per person or $15 for a couple payable in January or at the time of joining. You may attend up to 3 meetings before becoming a member. Contact Club President Bernie Jansen or Treasurer Sharon Buckle at the next meeting you attend.
