Ms. Woffinden works as one of four regional faculty focused primarily on 4-H/Youth Development. She works in a small rural county in the far southeastern corner of Idaho but increased youth participation in the 4-H program by almost 50% last year (to 575 youth) by focusing programming using day camps in addition to traditional clubs. She has expertise in clothing and textiles, so she is very involved in developing sewing curricula and materials for Idaho and national programs in 4-H. In 2004, she accepted added responsibility to complete the pilot programs for the Sewing Cooperative Curriculum System (CCS), an effort to bring consistency to the curriculum materials used in 4-H programming nationwide. She authored or co-authored 14 of the lesson plans in these curricula while also managing the pilot program. |
