| Successes and Current Activities: |
Cindy Kinder provides area leadership for 4-H Youth Development (including youth livestock education), and programming on crops, forages, and community development in counties throughout District III, including her home county, Camas County. Ms. Kinder’s 4-H efforts have centered on livestock and food system education, and she works with 4-H program coordinators in eight Magic Valley counties to enhance educational opportunities for volunteers and youth. The first County Fair and Superintendent Training was well attended by people representing six counties and two districts. Attendees reported that new ideas, suggestions for improvement, excitement, and enthusiasm were results of the workshop. Ms. Kinder conducted programs in Camas County on gardening, pesticide usage and safety, livestock production and forage crops. She cooperated with other faculty and specialists to create a state wide youth curriculum in Beef Quality Assurance. Ms. Kinder provides leadership for a number of youth camps that serve youth from Camas County and other counties in District III, including the 4-H Summer Camp, Wildlife Day Camp, and South Idaho Winter Snow Camp. She actively works with public schools and other organizations to meets the needs of her local community. |
