The 4-H Cloverbud Program
is a fun, non-competitive educational program for youth
ages 5 to 7 years old by January 1 of the current 4-H
year.
The Cloverbud
program focuses on cooperative learning while guiding
participants to:

Develop life skills in the
areas of self-understanding, social interaction,
decision-making, learning to learn, and physical
development.

Gain knowledge through the
experiential learning process.

Develop positive attitudes
toward learning
~
Develop ongoing relations
with caring adults and older youth who serve as positive
role models
~
Explore family and
community relations
~
Develop an understanding of
and appreciation for social and cultural differences
Cloverbud curriculum is
developmentally appropriate for this age, is
activity-oriented, involves cooperative learning and is
focused on life skills taught through a broad spectrum
of subject matters. Cloverbud members may be
involved in lap animals projects, such as rabbits,
cavies, cats, small dogs that weigh less than the
member, chickens, and mini-goats. Fair exhibits by
Cloverbuds are noncompetitive and are optional.
