Beekeeping
Essay
A different topic is selected for the
American Beekeeping Essay contest each year. The beekeeping
industry is concerned about the decline in the number of beekeepers
as well as the advancing age of active beekeepers. What could be
done to encourage someone to become a beekeeper, whether hobbyist or
commercial?
Each
state may select one essay to enter in the national contest.
Cash awards of $750, $500, and $250 will be given to the top three
winners in the nation. Each state winner receives an
appropriate book about honey bees, beekeeping or honey.
Essays are due at the State 4-H
Office on February 1, 2010.
