Idaho Wool
Scholarship:
4-H members, ages 12-18 with garments
construction skills in using wool fabric or yarn, may compete for
awards at the district and state levels.
Participants must be
enrolled in a 4-H clothing, knitting or crochet project and receive
a blue/gold ribbon in both construction and fit and interview at the
county level.
The garment must be a minimum 50 % wool blend. The
basic level is for 4-H members 12-16 who construct, knit, or crochet
a simple garment such as a skirt, vest, or sweater.
Members 14-18
may enter the advanced level and construct, knit, or crochet a
garment which includes at least 4 advanced techniques.
Members 14-16
may enter either level based upon the type of garment they make.
District contests are held in late summer and fall.
The Idaho Wool
Growers Association offers four $100 award, one per district,
to winners at the district level.
An additional $600 award is
presented to the top project garment among the four district
winners.
Basic Level winners in each district will receive a $25
award.
